The triumph bolsters the New England's advantage at the summit of the division as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two wins and eight losses
The Jets had scored first at Foxborough with QB Justin Fields rushing for a five-yard TD to conclude the Jets' first possession
But the New England answered in the second quarter as the rookie scored two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Maye at the back of the endzone halfway into the third quarter to make it 21 to 7
"That was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He desires to be outstanding."
Fields threw to Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Andy Borregales converted a pair of field goals in the final period as the home side wrapped up the triumph
