Explore Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-eating heroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a exclusive panel held at New York Comic Con. Is this a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? Let you decide.

Check out below at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful background. Everything listed here releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before we get into the many special decks and collections on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a few surprising features. First, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which players can play big creatures into the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells as well. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the mechanic a little (It counts as casting, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability because that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “But on other planes, since the rules are cleaner and the new ability is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet according to the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers say they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we knew it would be Standard-legal and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to make sure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to offer the components for a fun Standard deck,” the designer says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your commander depending on how you combine them (five cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone instead of just one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise due to popularity. Sources told that it contains 43 new cards in total, which means an extra thirty-seven TMNT-themed cards besides the six legendary commanders shown earlier. (Calculating roughly, that also means about 20 reprints if we assume the deck includes 37 land cards.)

What will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is selling a collection. This one costs $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • 1 storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • One storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT art. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces on a pizza. In total, there are six different pizza promos in total.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the prize for winning)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (to build your deck)
  • Ten Regular double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products aimed at new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The concept is that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
