Edwards as well as Gary O'Neil Among Wolves Head Coach Contenders

Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early names under consideration to succeed the former manager as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on the weekend following the team's ten-game winless beginning to the Premier League campaign.

Furthermore both candidates - each of whom have previous links to the team - are part of the names to be evaluated by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would create a potential hurdle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton head coach - who made more than 100 of appearances for the club during his playing career - is said to be a leading candidate for the position.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys support from the Wolves directors as they begin the process of appointing a new manager.

O'Neil is also emerging as a unexpected candidate, although he would be a shock choice given he was sacked by Wolves in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham player is out of work which means the club would not need to provide any buyout fee.
